Course Objective

Victims and their family of aircraft accidents and other emergencies, irrespective of where its occurs or the nationality of casualties and families, have certain fundamental human need and emotions. Public attention will continue to focus on the human-interest aspects of airline accidents and serious incidents. The aircraft operator involved in an airline accident and serious incident is the best suited to assist families immediately following an accident.

The course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of all personnel with responsibilities under Family Assistance Team to ensure the appropriate knowledge and behaviour in handling emergency situation as a member of Family Assistance Team.
Also covers the many areas of understanding required to set up and run a Family Assistance Centre with a special emphasis on maintaining the safety and security of all, prepare Family Assistant (FA) to meet both the emotional and logistical needs of families and affected passengers also gain an understanding of the equipment and ideal facilities required to ensure that Airline Operator is well prepared. The Last half day focuses on a practical exercise about setting up and running such a centre and to create an awareness of both the immediate needs and the types of practical support required for survivors and their families.
